Focus on rolling stock availability
The damage repair team carries out vital and impactful work within NS. Their tasks range from fixing relatively minor damage, such as simple shunting incidents, to repairing severe collisions and burnt-out trains. Their focus is on safety and rolling stock availability for passengers, a combination that is not always easy to achieve.
The department includes all necessary disciplines: production support staff, metalworkers, interior fitters, polyester repair specialists, industrial painters, and builders of electrical and pneumatic systems. Over the years, the Damage Repair Workshop has restored hundreds of carriages.
On-call service
When a train is damaged, the technical on-call service advises on sending it to the most suitable maintenance facility. There, a team of experts carefully assesses the damage in detail. The entire train is thoroughly inspected as a precaution. The experts then prepare a work plan, which guides the technicians in carrying out the repairs professionally.
Repair report
Once a train is ready, it always receives a repair report including all relevant certificates, protocols and photos. This documentation provides proof that the train has been restored to near-new condition.
