Maintenance and Service

NS regularly carries out short-term maintenance. This helps prevent many issues and ensures that the trains remain reliable. Reliability is always our top priority.

Fast and careful maintenance

During short-term maintenance, we work quickly but carefully. We thoroughly inspect the train and carry out the required maintenance. Our workshops are designed to allow easy access to the roof and undercarriage. We check brake blocks, wheels, pneumatic components and filters to keep the train safe and reliable.

Maintenance close to train operations

Thanks to our Technical Centres, we can carry out maintenance close to train operations. This helps avoid unnecessary train movements and gets the train ready for you more quickly. The Technical Centres are sustainable and technologically advanced buildings. They are even the first railway workshops in Europe to receive the four-star Breeam rating, a method for assessing building sustainability.

Dedicated maintenance for each train type

Each train is different and requires specific maintenance. That is why we follow clear requirements and inspections for each train type. This allows us to provide tailored daily maintenance for both large and small customers, ensuring every train receives exactly what it needs.

Trains given a second life

Long-term maintenance refers to work that does not occur daily, such as major rebuilds, interior modernisation or overhaul of bogies and wheelsets. This is how we literally give trains a new lease of life.

From planning to completion

What does the customer want? What requirements does the manufacturer set? And what does the law demand? We take all these into account and remain flexible about what is possible. Our expert staff manage both the planning and the execution, so you have just one point of contact.
